Bring Your Dog Along for the Chesapeake Bay Getaway!

At The Inn at Tabbs Creek, we know that pets are family—after all, we have a hairless cat named Stella ourselves! For many guests, leaving a dog behind just isn’t an option. That’s why we now offer dog-friendly lodging in select rooms, so your furry companion can enjoy the getaway, too.

Our Dog-Friendly Rooms

Chesapeake Suite & East River Suite: One dog under 50 lbs or two dogs under 25 lbs each
Tabbs Room: One dog under 50 lbs

A $25 per pet, per night fee applies, and some restrictions apply (see our Pet Policy). While we love dogs, we only accommodate adult dogs—but our resident cat, “Queenie” always happy to receive attention

Fun for You and Your Pup

Mathews County is full of adventures for you and your canine companion. Explore Chesapeake Bay beaches, stroll Main Street or the Farmers’ Market (Saturdays, April–October), or enjoy patios at Southwinds Café, Mi Casa Azteca, or Hole in the Wall Waterfront Bar & Grill. On our property, pups love wandering down the country lane or following Magnolia Trail through the woods.

Peace of Mind for Everyone

If you’re not a dog person, rest easy—the main house and common spaces remain pet-free. Pet-friendly guests are asked to keep dogs leashed outdoors and under control. We maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, and pet fees support extra sanitation and oversight.

Pet Policy Highlights

Dogs must be friendly and well-behaved
Dogs must be leashed outside of their room
Dogs may enjoy outdoor areas, decks, and the dock—but not the pool or main house
Owners are responsible for behavior, bedding, supplies, waste cleanup, and any damages
Crates are recommended; pets should stay off furniture
Owners may be asked to board dogs for behavioral issues, without refund
