Welcome to The Inn at Tabbs Creek—where old charm meets new beginnings.
When we first visited the Inn in May 2024, we were immediately drawn in by its warmth, natural beauty, and sense of timelessness. Nestled in historic Mathews County and originally built in the 1880s by a local shipbuilder, this home felt like a place with stories to tell—and we knew we wanted to be part of the next chapter.
We’re honored to carry on the legacy lovingly created by Greg and Lori Dusenberry, who spent over 15 years making this place feel like home for so many. Inspired by the article “A Farmhouse Reborn,” we thought: why not “A Farmhouse Reborn…Again?”
This place brings back memories of Sherry’s childhood summers on the Connecticut shoreline—family, fresh air, and simple joys. Before settling here, we ran a small boutique hotel in Hollywood, Florida, passed down by our beloved Aunt Jean. She taught us everything about hospitality with heart.
After a short-lived “retirement,” we realized we missed the joy of hosting, connecting, and sharing beautiful spaces with others. So, here we are—back doing what we love, with a few upgrades and a lot of heart.
We hope your stay brings you rest, connection, and a little magic. You’ll likely meet our dear friends Lupe and Diego, and maybe even our quirky (and hairless!) cat, Stella Luna.
We can’t wait to welcome you—whether you’re a first-time guest or part of the Inn’s extended family.
With warmth,
Sherry & Ridge Crewss
