The Inn at Tabbs Creek at Port Haywood is located in Mathews County Virginia. The inn is now owned and operated by Sherry and Ridge Crewss. Greg and Lori Dusenberry had been operating the Inn for over 15 years, and have lovingly created a property that is both charming and welcoming. The Crewss aim to continue the legacy that Lori and Greg built.
Sherry and Ridge first visited the Inn in May 2024 and instantly fell in love with its charm and the surrounding natural beauty. Knowing the property was for sale, they dove into its history. A farmhouse built in the 1880’s by a shipbuilder (Captain Billups), with fireplace mantels even imported from England! Their research led them to an article, “A Farmhouse Reborn” by Lynne Sade, which chronicled the property after Lori and Greg purchased it in 2008. Inspired by this, Sherry and Ridge made the decision to buy this beautiful B & B and refresh it once more – thus “A Farmhouse Reborn…Again.” The property evokes memories for Sherry of summers spent on the shores of Conneticut with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and summertime friends.
Ridge and Sherry have been married for nearly 30 years and have four children and nine grandchildren combined.
Before purchasing the Inn in December the Crewss owned and operated a small boutique hotel on the beach in Hollywood, Florida, a legacy handed down from their beloved Aunt Jean.

While managing the hotel, Sherry and Ridge balanced full-time careers and caring for her dad and aunt.
“We learned from our mistakes and soon we not only ran the hotel successfully but also formed friendships with many of the guests that passed through our doors over the years!”
But, in December of 2022, The Crewss decided to let go of their cherished family-run hotel and retired to Georgia. However, Ridge and Sherry found themselves bored and longing to return to hosting guests and making lifelong connections with new friends.
After extensive research, they are thrilled to be back in the industry, breathing new life into this georgeous waterfront property, complete with its stunning wildlife and breathtaking sunsets.
Joining Ridge and Sherry on this exciting journey are their dear friends, Lupe and Diego, and their amazing naked cat Stella Luna.
